Travel
Vienna has one airport: Wien-Schwechat Airport, which is well-connected to the city center via public transport.
For public transportation, you can purchase tickets at U-Bahn (underground) stations or from ticket machines on trams (always located near the second set of doors). Available ticket options include single-ride tickets, 24-hour passes, and weekly travel tickets.
If you prefer to explore the city by bicycle or scooter, you’ll find many available for rent on the streets, accessible via various mobile apps.
Tips
In Vienna, most shops are closed on Sundays, except for some restaurants. Additionally, the day of the wedding is a public holiday, so all shops will be closed. Perfect timing for a celebration!
Accommodation
Vienna is a relatively small city with efficient public transportation, making most areas accessible within 25 minutes. We recommend staying within the highlighted areas on the map to make travel easier on the wedding day. However, Vienna is easy to navigate, so don’t feel restricted to these areas.
We do not recommend staying across the Danube River, as commuting from there can be more challenging. If you book in advance, you can find affordable accommodations on Airbnb and Booking.com.
